Building & Pest Inspection – Unit Complex (Kirra)

I was asked by property investor to undertake a thorough Building and Pest Inspection to a first floor unit in a block of six in Kirra.

The unit complex was located close to the beach, and a number of defective issues were found during the inspection.

• Cracked asbestos sheeting to the roof
• Leaking asbestos gutter
• Insufficient drainage
• Wet rot to decking framing timbers
• Insufficient strength to timber handrails
• Rusted stairs stringer brackets

This property is more than 30 years old and the defect issues are relevant to the age and close proximity to the ocean.
